Rev. Jerry R. Turner
1975 - 1976

Jerry came to Aldersgate directly after graduating from the seminary at Duke Divinity School.  He pastored Aldersgate for one year, from 1974 to 1975.

Jerry states that he always loved Aldersgate, very much enjoyed his ministry here, and had anticipated being here longer than the one year.  One of the most remembered stories was in August , 1974 during Vacation Bible School when then President Richard Nixon resigned from office.  During Bible School he sat the children down, explained what the President did and what his resignation meant to our country.  It was not a negative discussion, he communicated very well to the children and answered their questions with comforting ease.

At the end of his first year, Jerry was asked to join the Alabama/West Florida Headquarters as Director of Youth Ministries.  Jerry served in this capacity until 1978,when he moved to Government Street United Methodist Church in Mobile.  From there Jerry took his last church at Hartford United Methodist Church in 1985.  In 1988 Jerry left the ministry and moved to Logansville, GA to begin a career in Loss Control.  Today Jerry owns Turner Loss Control Management, Inc.  His field of expertise is safety consulting, and his company conducts audits for the Department of Transportation.

Jerry and Kay have three boys, Chad, Andy, and Gerald.  Jerry and Kay currently live in Gulf Breeze.  Andy and Krista have one child.  He wishes everyone the best and continued love and happiness.
